Setting up a memorial tribute

I want to set up a memorial giving page for a loved one. Can you help me with that?

We would be honoured to help you set up a memorial giving page in memory of a loved one. Complete the intake form and a member of our tribute giving team will be in touch to collect and confirm information.

I do not want a memorial page set up, but I want donations in memory of my loved one to be made to St. Paul’s Foundation, what are my options?

We can collect donations in memory of your loved one even if they do not have a memorial giving page. We will need some information from the family to set-up the memorial in our systems. Please contact us for more information or to start the process of setting up your memorial tribute.

Can I support any program at St. Paul’s Foundation?

Yes! You can support any of our programs, hospitals, and long-term care homes in memory of a loved one. For more information on areas to support and how your gift has impact, please contact us.

I collected donations from friends and family made in memory of a loved one. Can you issue tax receipts to each donor? How do I deliver these donations to St. Paul’s Foundation?

What a fantastic way to honour a loved one who has passed. We can collect these donations and issue tax receipts to each individual donor. To issue tax receipts, please include a list with the full names and mailing addresses of each donor, and the amount each donor gave. When we receive this information and the funds we can issue tax receipts.

For security reasons we encourage you not to mail cash. If you collected cash gifts from multiple people, you can issue us a cheque for the total amount given and include a list of donors who gave to your collection, including their full names, mailing addresses, and the amount they gave so that we can issue them a tax receipt.

You can mail these donations to St. Paul’s Foundation at:
St. Paul’s Foundation
178-1081 Burrard Street
Vancouver, BC V6Z 1Y6

What should I write on my cheque?

Write us a note in the memo line of the cheque or on a separate paper that says who the donation is made in memory of and any additional information you want us to know about your donation. If you would like a notification sent to the family of the tribute, please include their full name and mailing addresses as well as any messages you want us to share with your gift.

Will I receive a tax receipt for my memorial donation?

Yes, we issue tax receipts for any donation made to St. Paul’s Foundation over the amount of $10. Donors who make gifts online will receive an electronic tax receipt sent to their email addresses they provided. Donors who make gifts in person, through the mail, or over the phone will receive a tax receipt mailed to them at their preferred address.

I made an online donation. When will I receive my electronic tax receipt?

Electronic tax receipts are sent immediately after a donation is made online. If you did not receive your tax receipt right away, please refresh your inbox, and check your spam and junk email folders. If you still have not received your tax receipt after 12 hours, please email us at spfoundation@providencehealth.bc.ca or call us at 604-682-8206 or toll-free at 1-800-720-2983.

Will you notify the family of my memorial donation?

Yes. If you make a donation online, you have the option to send an e-card to a family member notifying them of your gift, including your own personal condolence message. There are four e-card designs to choose from. E-cards will be automatically sent within a couple of hours of making your donation.

You also have the option to have a handwritten card and message sent in the mail. We do need the full name and mailing address of the person you'd like us to send to.

Can you provide support materials such as donation cards or a sign to have at a funeral or celebration of life ceremony?

Yes, we can make you a custom sign to have at your celebration, honouring your loved one. We can also send you some of our Give in Memory donation forms so donors can securely mail us cheques and credit card information in a postage-paid envelope. Please contact us for more information.
