Through both joy and sorrow, St. Paul’s Hospital was there for the O’Neill Family.  After a yearlong battle with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer, Steve passed away at St. Paul’s on August 31, 2018.

Throughout Steve’s battle, his grandson Julian was a silver lining.  The picture above is just one of many featuring them smiling (or conspiring?) together. It was taken at Batard Bakery, obviously before “papa” fed him some soup – as can be noted by the clean sleeper.  We were fortunate for them to share 18 months together.  Julian was born at St. Paul’s in February 2017.

Steve’s family are deeply in gratitude for the extraordinary and compassionate care provided by Dr. David Williscroft and the team of nurses at St. Paul’s Palliative Care in his final days.
