In Memory of Beverly Beaudin

Lights of Hope Tribute in Memory of Beverly Beaudin (July 11th, 1953 - September 21st, 2019)

Bev Beaudin began working at St. Paul's Hospital as a staff Respiratory Therapist in 1988. She became the Core Ward RT and then Wards supervisor, before moving into her role as one of the first Certified Asthma educators in BC in 1999. She later became a Certified Respiratory Educator (CRE) and Educator Trainer, and taught in the Canadian Lung Association RespTrec Program, training other Certified Respiratory Educators.

Bev was extremely proud to be a Respiratory Therapist. She promoted the profession throughout her many years as a front line therapist and educator.

She mentored many Respiratory Therapy students over the years and will be remembered for her tough but fair approach. She always encouraged her students and colleagues to strive for excellence. Her patients always came first and she was a no-nonsense practitioner who was not afraid to stand up for her beliefs. Those who knew her well knew that although she could be outspoken, she had a heart of gold and was a loyal colleague and friend.

Bev left SPH in 2005 to continue her work as a Community Respiratory Therapist with Fraser Health, before retiring in 2018.

Her untimely passing leaves a considerable void in the Respiratory Therapy community and she will be greatly missed by her many colleagues and friends.

With your generous contribution, we hope to raise enough funds to see Bev's name up in lights in the St. Paul's Hospital courtyard on the 2019 St. Paul's Foundation Lights of Hope display. Donations must be made by November 30th, 2019 in order to be displayed on this season's display.

"The secret of joy in work is contained in one word—Excellence. To know how to do something well is to enjoy it." ~ Pearl S. Buck
