St. Paul's Foundation - In Memory Pages

In Memory of Shirley and Jack Cunningham

The Shirley Cunningham Nursing Endowment Fund was established in 2015 as a memorial tribute to Shirley Cunningham by her husband, Jack Cunningham, following Shirley’s death in May of that year. Jack Cunningham passed away in January of 2020 and the Cunningham Fund now serves as a memorial tribute to both Jack and Shirley.  Mr. and Mrs. Cunningham’s children, relatives and friends continue to make donations to St. Paul’s Foundation of Vancouver for the Cunningham Fund as a tribute to Shirley and Jack’s memory and to provide a lasting legacy for these very special and well-loved people.

The Cunningham Fund provides a source of funding to benefit the education and training of nurses and other clinical staff, involved in direct patient care, at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.  The principal of the Fund is kept invested by St. Paul’s Foundation and each year a portion of the investment income is made available to directly benefit the nursing education program. At the end of March, 2022, the Cunningham Fund had a principal balance of approximately $78,000 and income earned by the Fund continues to support nursing education at St. Paul’s. St. Paul’s Hospital has been educating and training nurses for many decades in Vancouver and we are grateful for Jack and Shirley Cunningham’s vision and the generosity of the Cunningham family for their support of these vital programs.
